Food for thought: Try food for wearing!

Food for thought: Try food for wearing!

Ever enjoyed eating food so much you’ve pretty much worn it? Well, now you can! Petit Plat is a homemade French label that has turned every day edible items into an adorable collection of food jewellery.

Twenty-six years old Stephanie Kilgast is a graduated architect and the creator of these totally tempting fashion delights. After not finding work in architecture, Stephanie tried hobby after hobby, and finally found a new passion for making miniatures. She used to make mini food for her Barbies as a child and re-discovered the miniature food world in 2008. Since then, making miniatures has become her life with her inedible but delectable pieces growing to even include sushi, salmon and cheese!

Chocolate toast earrings

With her pieces being 1/12 of the size of the real item, it is hard to believe it is possible to make such intricate items, but it seems Stephanie does it with ease. Each piece is flawless with such care and attention to detail; it is hard to believe that you can’t eat them!

Petit Plat jar pendants

Every time you look at the pieces Petit Plat has for sell, you fall in love over and over again. Cute does not even begin to describe her work. From earrings to necklaces, rings and hair accessories, you can wear your favourite guilty pleasure and make it look so cool.

Croissant hair pins

Our favourites have to be the candy jar and macaroon pendants, fruit tart and chocolate spread on toast earrings, waffle ring, croissant hairpins, in fact we can’t pick a favourite! The list is endless.

This has to be the best fix for a New Year diet, so indulge in some calorific jewellery with a piece from Petit Plat today, click here for the rest of the collection.
