Nina Naustdal’s jewellery debut in Chelsea
Nina Naustdal launched her debut jewellery couture line last night, at her beautiful London shop in Chelsea, 176 Walton Street. The Upcoming was lucky enough to attend this fabulous diamond studded event and gain an exclusive insight into this sparkly and glamorous range.
Norwegian designer Nina walked into the shop – fashionably late for her own launch – in a beautiful red gown adorned with black Swarovski crystals. Her shoes were patent black with a bow on the heels, she was wrapped in a huge black, white and grey fur coat that gave her a sense of Russian glamour; but the things that most attracted my attention were the diamond laced earrings that hung like chandeliers and the beautiful diamond studded necklace that draped around her neck with sparkling elegance.
Nina Naustdal spoke to me about her debut line of jewellery and gave me a unique insight about the latest jewellery line. Nina felt that this is simply an extension from her ‘couture based clothing’ and said that the pieces would be perfect for Valentine’s Day, engagements, marriage, Christmas and birthdays.
I felt such a connection when she said that every woman likes being treated to jewellery and went on to enforce how ‘diamonds sparkle forever and every woman should make and effort and be treated’. Nina, in all her Hollywood glamour, then disappeared into the Chelsea crowd and feeling very sparkly, I plodded away to gain a view from the other very gorgeous guests.
As I drifted into the crowd, I listened to French rap music; the canapés were roast beef with rocket on a cheese bed, tuna mousse with olives, spinach and cheese enclosed pastry; all were washed down with some gorgeous pink champagne.
I spotted some gorgeous chunky rings with amethyst centres, which would be more than fabulous for an engagement. Nothing is understated and everything has a huge sense of glamour, and shines.
I spoke to Liz Ward, who was dressed in a purple bejewelled vintage Chanel gown. A lady who loves Chanel and loves Nina Naustdal: I think this demonstrates the excellent taste of her guests. Oscar, who works in finance, stated that the jewellery was ‘fit for Kings and Queens’. Sophia, a music producer said that Nina’s jewellery collection ‘portrays the true art of jazzing up elegance’.
My favourite piece, described by one guest as the Christina Aguilera, was a 30 carats cuff-bracelet in white and yellow canary diamonds, retailing at £75,000. Unique and glamourous do come with a good old price tag.
It was great to see that her fashion is still creating a great buzz with Alana (astrologer) and Davina (full-time party girl) both loving Naustdal’s ‘edgy, happening black dress’ from her latest fashion collection. Sammy White, of Temperley Bridal Wear, and Giovanna, of PQ International, adored that jewellery collection, gushing over it ‘amazing, wonderful, fit for eternity’.
It was great to see Fashion TV make an appearance: Georgia Fairhurst-Walch presenter and textiles student in Chelsea adores the jewellery, and was working closely with the famous cameraman we all love, Johnny Nash.
Nina Naustdal fabulous jewellery is definitely here to stay and I think that there is definitely a very lucky girl getting one of her engagement rings, very soon, maybe for Valentine’s Day? Don’t worry, I won’t name and shame you here, your secret is very safe. Oh…and I am very jealous!
