NYFW – Prete & Bruno shows Fall 2012 collection
Prete & Bruno the design duo from Italy brought beautiful glamour and elegance to The Stage at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week for their upcoming Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. Inspired by old school Hollywood icons like Marlene Dietrich and Grace Kelly, their collection paid homage to classic and elegant ladylike silhouettes bringing the true Hollywood glamour back for Fall.
The models sported chic updos done in a classic bun style. They teetered down the catwalk in super high black pumps, to a mix of French electro pop music. The collection was filled with pops of emerald green tones complimented by a classic black, gold and silver base. There were chic tweed jackets paired with matching skirts complete with pearl necklaces and bejeweled brooches, and extravagant flowing floor length gowns. Although some of the show’s highlights included a cropped gold bolero and velvet pant combination and a black sequined long sleeve dress with a dangerously low plunging neckline, the look that stole the show was the floorlength gold halter dress with a black feathered neckline. We think the Black Swan Princess would be proud of that look.
About their collection Prete & Bruno said: “ We would like to see women exude an authentic elegance. One that belongs to the past but is also modern and sophisticated.” Prete & Bruno did just that, creating a modern update on Italian luxury, that is absolutely wearable in real life!
