Elizabeth Lau SS12 collection
I think it’s fair to say Mrs. Lau must be one of the proudest parents on the planet. Following in the footsteps of her hugely popular sister Susie Lau (or Susie Bubble), Elizabeth Lau is definitely making her own mark on the fashion world. It all started when she was little; Elizabeth loved making her own things and dressing up. Today, these are still things she loves, but with one extra detail: she now designs for her very own brand.
Having made her debut at both the Paris and London fashion weeks in 2007, Elizabeth has since launched eco bamboo yarn knitwear, opened a Pop-up Boutique just off Carnaby Street, produced videos for her collections and even launched a line of men’s jumpers – and these are just some of the things she has achieved.
The brand itself is a reflection of Elizabeth. Her aim is to give women an exciting and new vision of being feminine, but in way that reflects our current fashion trends. Somehow, she has achieved all of this and her Spring/Summer 2012 collection is absolutely adorable. No matter what the season, Elizabeth aims to design easy and effortless dresses and elegant knitwear, as well as coats and jackets. Capturing this alongside her love and passion for London, her pieces are simple, quirky and so unbelievably cute you can’t help but need every item in your wardrobe.
The upcoming collection hosts a series of black and white basic pieces, made to stand out with print collared detailing, alliterated slogans and absolutely stunning heart cut-out shoes. There is also a more cultural and colourful range of dresses, knits and shorts, themed around blue, white and red. There are polka dots and horizontal stripes, statement wording, shoulder detailing and a whole array of differently designed socks. Elizabeth has well and truly captured the heart of London in her designs and she has added a whole new level of excitement to what we want to be seen wearing this spring.
