The Occasional Traveller
Jaclynn Seah is the creator behind impressive The Occasional Traveller. The label, which is cleverly named after her own experiences, is Jac’s way of reminding everyone that the world really is your oyster. Having a full-time job, Jac is the same as all of us working lot, with only two to three weeks off throughout the year, so whenever she can, she spends her holiday travelling. Creating The Occasional Traveller is a way of telling the world about her opportunities and experiences and inspiring others to remember to take time out for themselves once in a while.
The Occasional Traveller started back in 2010, but Jac has been journalling her trips since 2007. She decided to start combining her blog with innovative travel ideas and other things that make her want to travel. TOTshop (The Occasional Traveller Shop) was established through the same inspiration and is a collection of unique travel-inspired or related items sourced from all over the globe. The items sold in TOTshop aren’t made by Jac herself, but are especially handpicked to ultimately improve travelling ventures. Jac has told us that she is working on her own line of items for the shop, starting with travel journals, and they will be with us in the near future.
For the time being, we can’t get enough of the extraordinary finds TOTshop has to offer. The Scratch Map ($45) is probably our favourite, so unique and personal that it’s the most inimitable way of visually recording places you have visited. Covered in gold foil and working just like a scratch card, the map is perfect to identify all of the memories you made all over the world. Oh, and we must mention the jewellery! From the Taj Mahal ($10) to the Pyramids ($16), TOTshop has rings that bear some of the most famous landmarks on the planet. We also can’t forget to point out the Skyline Necklace ($30), which displays famous attractions from London, Paris, Sydney and Shanghai. Additional items we want to share are the quirky Cube Globe ($60) and the Crumbled City Map ($22), made from Tyvek material and 100% waterproof so no matter what conditions you are in you won’t get lost. Amazing for you or for presents, TOTshop really is a place of complete idiosyncratic and significant character.
When asking Jac about The Occasional Traveller, she said “I like to think that it shows that you don’t have to be an intrepid explorer or avid backpacker to enjoy travelling.” It is clear that this is exactly what she has done, and she has managed to open up a whole world of travelling we didn’t even think was possible.
For that, we would like to thank you Jac! Find just what you need to complete your special journey here.
