LFW – Nasir Mazhar AW 2012 collection
Nasir Mazhar specialises on the conventions of headwear and continues to challenge them in his collections. His 2012 collection consisted of a row of mannequins on a wall presenting his headwear, and these hats show Mazhar is exploring an alternative to the existing hats you can purchase on the high street. Colours were blacks, hot oranges and dark reds and the shapes of the hats varied creating a daring street style image, one that is completely unique.
The other part of the collection was bags, also hanging from the wall. Think of the idea of rucksack style bags clashed with swim bags plus travel and you can kind of see where Mazhar is coming from. Basically these bags were definitely out of the ordinary and they made a bold statement. The collection proved eclectic, ranging from inspirations of hip hop, the far east and sport.
