LFW – Rohmir AW 2012 presentation
On entrance to the Rohmir Autumn/Winter 2012 presentation, you were simply wowed by the beauty and elegance of the setting at the Vauxhall Fashion Scout. Entitled ‘The Silk Route’, the collection was surrounded by complete Parasian indulgence. Guests were welcomed to luxe sofas, floor cushions and stools, surrounded by tables with chopsticks, lily style tea lights and oriental china. Designer Olga Roh took inspiration for the collection from the ‘historical network of trade routes’ that are associated with Asia and the Western World. After travelling around the world Olga has used her pieces to display a mix of cultures which she has loved and lived within.
The materials used focused upon those which came from the trade routes. Dresses featuring chiffon and satin as well as leggings made from coloured lace were all key pieces in the collection complete with fringing and woven detailing. All of the garments were elegant and feminine, but still all managed to represent a culture of travelling and the route which followed from East to West. The colours used bright greens and reds as well as metallic and golden touches to illustrate ‘spice markets’ and ‘bazaars’ from that area. The autumn winter collection prevails a tale of sophistication and civilisation, an approach to fashion involving the world which we live in but do not always get to explore, and is something which Olga Roh should be truly proud of.
