Anna’s Accessories: Style icon Anna Della Russo collaborates with H&M
H&M’s collaborations are always exciting news and the latest is no different – Vogue Japan’s Anna Della Russo is teaming up with the high street giant to design an accessories collection that will hit stores on 4th October.
“I am excited by this collaboration: this is the first time H&M involves a fashion director in a special project. This is the sign of an important evolution in fashion and I am both thrilled and humbled to be the one chosen to lead it,” said Della Russo of the collaboration.
Described as a “fashion maniac” by legendary fashion photographer Helmut Newton, Anna is constantly gracing best-dressed lists, not to mention a regular feature on renowned fashion blog The Sartorialist. Now the style icon is following in the footsteps of designers Donatella Versace, Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney and most recently, Marni’s Consuelo Castiglioni.
The fashion director’s collection for H&M includes sunglasses, shoes, jewellery, bags and even a trolley suitcase! The collection will reflect Della Russo’s unique and flamboyant sense of style – expressing Anna’s taste for ornamentation; the range is aimed to be unabashedly glamorous, precious and playful.
Miss Della Russo’s thoughts on the collection? “I wanted to create precious accessories that are impossible to find. With these pieces everybody can have fun, turning an ordinary day into a fantastic fashion day.”
Margareta van den Bosch, H&M creative advisor, said: “Anna has a fantastic eye and a strong taste, apart from being a veritable fashion icon. The collection is a celebration of excess, fantasy and decoration.”
Looks like H&M will be the place to go for accessories this autumn!
Anna’s collection will be available in H&M stores worldwide and online from 4th October 2012.
