Putting your feet in the spotlight
The sun is shining and so are we. One whole week of pure sunshine and temperatures in the high 20°C have made us all believe that summer is finally here. Everyone is in T-shirts, shorts and flip-flops. But sadly, sometimes the sun makes us forget things, such as sunscreen, moisturiser and comfort. There is more care needed during the summer time, especially when it comes to your feet.
During the summer, a woman’s feet are just as important as her hair, make-up and clothing. A great outfit can be ruined by un-groomed feet peeking out from her sandals.
Before you invest in a new pair of sandals and having your feet look all pretty, here are some pointers:
Keep the soles of your feet clean! No one specifically wants to see the dirty blackened bottoms of your feet. So, check them and if need be, wash them before putting on sandals or flip-flops.
Clean, well-groomed toenails will look wonderful in these high straps chain sandals in sand grey-gold by Havaianas, costing £35. Havaianas is recognised for comfort. Your feet need this when you are out and about all day long.
Summer time also means we are prone to blisters and cuts on our precious toes. If you do not treat these, they can become aggravated and painful. Best thing to do is to soak your feet in a foot soak that is mint, lavender or honey-based. This will heal and calm your tired and aching feet.
To avoid such problems, you could purchase a pair of Birkenstock flip-flops. As the king of footwear, they have become more fashionable and popular over time. Take this pair of Gizeh sandals priced at £46.95 in mint, a good investment for which that your feet will be grateful.
These white leather gem sandals, which cost £28 at Dorothy Perkins, will definitely look great with hairless toes, ladies. Yes, some of us do suffer from this. It is nothing to be embarrassed about, but to be weary of. So, wax, shave or pluck, just remove those hairs and make your feet look feminine.
If white sandals are what you are looking for, what about trying these beaded strappy ones from Marks and Spencers or these printed black and white pair at H&M?
Regardless of what your budget is or what you decide to buy to show off your feet, ensure that they look great first. In case you have not yet done it, nourish your feet with some cream or even olive oil. On your nails, apply a base coat, your selected polish colour, followed by a topcoat. Wiggle your beautiful toes and dress them up in your fab new summer footwear!
