Anne Gorke AW 12/13 collection: where the wild things are
With a title so broadly evocative and with a style so evidently pure and sleek, AW 12/13 collection Wolves and Birches of the German designer Anne Gorke looks like just an invitation to the place where the wild things are.
The designer, Anne invites us to leave the frills and girlish adornments behind and to wear a sober but elegant dress-armor, a practical but feminine uniform.
A stark aesthetic is created from strength, discipline, pride and bravery in the use of white silk, blended with vibrant red and navy satin.
The straight lines and geometrical shapes contrast the brilliant magenta red and diminish the allure of the red, blue and white hues.
The intention is to create an elegant brand line, never excessive and ostentatious. This collection consists of simple garments, which articulates the shapes. In fact, the collection exhibits a sophisticated wearability with golden button and zipper details that distinctly emphasises the sheer femininity of the pieces.
A strong commitment to consistency in the design is clear, with the exclusive use of high-quality, organic textiles and fair methods of production.
Anne works exclusively with organic textiles of the best caliber. Pieces are designed in local workshops, which not only ensure fair conditions, but also meet the highest standard of quality and craftsmanship.
Her passion for collaborating with inspiring artists and friends has produced an interesting fashion film that you can see here.
