Deco Darling: No7 to launch Gatsby-inspired beauty collection
If the trailer is anything to go by, Baz Luhrmann’s visual spectacle that is the The Great Gatsby will be a huge box office hit when it hits cinemas this December. The highly anticipated adaptation has led to a revival in the slick Deco style of the 1920s, dubbed the “Gatsby trend” with a slew of designers, high street and beauty brands hopping on the Gatsby bandwagon. The AW12 shows were filled with 20s-inspired garments and beauty looks – pin set waves, slicked partings, rouge lips and smokey eyes were all the rage.
The latest to hop on board is Boots’ beauty brand No7, who have taken the Roaring Twenties as the inspiration for a limited edition beauty collection, set to hit Boots stores nationwide this autumn. Make-up artist to the stars and Creative Director of No7, Lisa Eldridge has developed a make-up collection with everything you need to unleash your inner Daisy Buchanan.
According to Eldrige, “There’s a look for every woman. Whether you want to opt for a dramatic eye or add a subtle touch of shimmer to your cheekbones, the No7 Deco Darling Collection will leave you looking and feeling as elegant as scenes from The Great Gatsby.”
The Deco Darling collection will feature a range of glittery eyeshadow palettes (£10) with embossed Art Deco-style packaging, lipsticks and nail colours, including shades named “Speakeasy” and “Daisy Darling” (£5.50 each). There’s also a loose powder highlighter (£12) to help give your skin a luminous glow to complete the glamorous 1920s look.
The Deco Darling collection is available in Boots and online from October 31st until December 25th, 2012.
