Vogue’s record-breaking September issue
The September issue of fashion magazines are like Christmas, but none are as highly anticipated and massive as the September issue of Vogue. The US edition of the fashion bible will surpass its own record with its “biggest issue ever” this September, a whopping “916 pages of spectacular fall fashion for all” touted on the cover!
With hundreds of pages of advertising, the September issue is without a doubt, the most lucrative issue for Vogue, released just in time for the upcoming spring/summer fashion weeks in London, Paris, New York and Milan. The September 2007 issue was, at the time, the biggest magazine ever published, weighing nearly five pounds! It was also the subject of director RJ Cutler’s 2009 documentary The September Issue.
Gracing the highly coveted cover this time is pop diva Lady Gaga. Photographed in New York by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the September issue is homage to the first ever cover of Vogue. In a stunning Marc Jacobs fishtail dress, Lady Gaga looks elegant and graceful on her second Vogue cover in as many years.
The 916-page issue is due to hit stands in the States on 21st August, just in time to mark Vogue’s 120th anniversary.
