Vogue’s Fashion Night Out: Orla Kiely at Uniqlo
Oxford Street came alive with fashion last night as it became host to Vogue’s Fashion Night Out. With live musician sets and the chance to model in the famous street’s windows, you could feel the excitement in the air in the run up to London Fashion Week. Pride was oozing from every store in a completely British manner, as all the major high street stores showcased their very own Fashion Night Out.
Taking a step back from all the hussle and bussle was Uniqlo, where designer Orla Kiely was there. Sitting at a quaint table when entering the store, Orla herself made an appearance to customers and fans alike. Giving out signed postcards with personal touches, Orla’s Irish charm filled the shop with sheer delight. With a queue out of the door, the popularity of Orla’s floral prints was apparent with dresses flying off the tables.
With huge circular domes displaying her classic designs, you couldn’t help but have a smile on your face. Peter pan collars and autumnal tones all played a part in the autumn/winter collection for this season, sticking to the label’s true style. Purchases by customers were topped off with Orla Kiely bags and a small bouquet of flowers on exit, adding the most perfect touch to the somewhat gentle feeling in the store.
Uniqlo managed to take play down the thrilling feeling of West London last night, but did so in complete style.
You can find Orla’s collection here.
