NYFW – Angel Sanchez S/S 2013 collection
The Angel Sanchez spring/summer 2013 line was a beautiful, geometric pop of colour against a stark white backdrop. The almost simple line of floor-grazing gowns, and above-knee-grazing skirts were offset by unexpected laser cut-outs, intricate beaded flower details, or asymmetrical hemlines.
The designer kept model faces natural and fresh faced, sporting nude lips and just a hint of sexy flush in the cheeks. Their hair was straight and slicked back into a loose pony-tail, so all the attention was on the clothes. With the brooding, atmospheric music blasting, models kept a serious look on their faces despite the fact that they were wearing gorgeous clothes.
The spring colour palette was filled with rich navy, black, white, rose and a perfect stunning yellow, neither too bright nor too dull. Sanchez used luxurious fabrics such as organza, leather and georgette fabrics for the S/S collection. Magenta brooches were seen on the ears and dresses from sculpture designer Rafael Barrios adding yet another unexpected Angel Sanchez twist. The star of the presentation was the Ochre seta gazar geometric panelled gown.
