LFW – House of Evolution: DB Berdan S/S 2013 collection

First to showcase as part of the House of Evolution platform was DB Berdan with a young and relaxed collection inspired by the Golden era in the 20th century. The mother-daughter design duo brought to the catwalk both long and short dresses with gorgeous collared shirts and immense satchels.

The colour palette consisted of soft pastels with animal prints and lace taken from French romance inspiration. The collection itself is called Haute Boheme and concentrates on bold collage prints to show the importance of handmade clothing in the designs, and the intricate beading completely shows off the collection to create a charming, feminine silhouette.

The mother, Deniz Berdan, initially began working as a fashion editor, so she certainly has the knowledge of the industry behind her, whilst her daughter Begum is currently studying costume for performance at the London College of Fashion. Together, their collection is a well-rounded set of designs that highlight the capability and power of this design duo.
