GUESS Watches unveil their new iPhone app
Bright and early yesterday morning, the GUESS store on Regent Street was buzzing with activity. Tea, coffee, croissants and unlimited blueberry muffins were keeping the guests of their UK Fashion iPhone App Launch fed and watered, whilst team members made their way around the crowd filling people in on this new and innovative step.
The party quietened when GUESS Watches & Jewellery’s Marketing and PR Director, Marie Grove, introduced a short and vibrant film explaining all the features of this incredible new app.
The application itself is free and allows users to keep on top of the latest trends, collections, deals, competitions, news and promotions. There is even a blog users can tap into to get all the info! The app has a store locator that locks into your GPS so you can find the closest GUESS Watches stockists to you, and also has what they are calling an interactive Augmented Reality function. This AR feature shows the latest must-have pieces, highlighted by footage previewing the new collections that haven’t even made it into the stores yet, bringing them to life. After this, one can win either shop vouchers or a watch. Guess Watches are one of the first in fashion to use the latest in AR technology and this experience can be previewed in-store by customers on the 6th October. As far as promotions go, there is a built-in QR Scanner to house this, and you can check it out with the Great GUESS Giveaway promo that’s in place at the moment.
The app has been in the making for about six months and the attention to detail is impeccable. It is more for promotional purposes, but there are plans of creating an update when users can order products from GUESS Watches and potentially their retail stores there and then on their smart phones. However, as the app is in its early days, one is still required to head into a shop in order to purchase a GUESS Watch. Despite this, their use of AR technology is clever in terms of drawing customers in with promotions and special offers whilst keeping them updated regularly of new products directly to their phone.
All in all it was a pleasant morning spent looking at the stunning new collection and talking to various bloggers, new media experts and jewellery lovers about the watches and the new app. Like previous collections, their AW12 work is bold and bright. We are extremely excited for the collection to hit the wrists of the fashion world, and even more so for the now downloadable GUESS Watches app!
