PFW – Devastee S/S 2013 collection
The second day of Paris Fashion Week began with Devastee’s show. The label was founded in 2004 by two young talents: Ophelie Klere and Francois Alary. They presented their spring/summer 2013 collection Perceptions with R’n’B rhythms.
Mostly monochromatic clothes featured on the Devastee show, mainly a striped collection with a sporty, boyish style. One can easily notice the new forms of 1920s male jackets as well as the shapeless smile icons seen everywhere. Basic caps, pretty silk dresses, frame printed oversized tees and plastic bags which have been around for a few seasons. Models appeared white faced with red lips resembling The Addams Family.
The main point that Devastee aims to address is that the same stories can take different ideas. During the show, you could feel the happiness in the dark places that forced our “perceptions”. It is not usual to see smile icons in the graveyard though.
