Boudoir lashes’ birthday party
When we received the invite to Boudoir lashes’ first birthday party, we were overly excited for an evening of glamour and pampering. We couldn’t wait to celebrate a really successful year for the exclusive boutique eyelash brand, and boy did the evening deliver!
Hosted in the Ruby room, in Jewel, Piccadilly Circus, it was the perfect venue for the event. With Middle-eastern style décor of patterned rugs, red lanterns, Buddhas and candles, the room oozed and complemented the class and chic that the evening offered.
We were greeted by Asma Docrat, the creator of Boudoir lashes and we were offered a glass of champagne and some delicious homemade rose and poppy seed cakes, which we obviously snapped up in an instant. Asma looked every bit as fabulous as her brand, wearing a black corset, leather look trousers and some very high and very sparkly heels. She was keen for us to try all of the beauty treatments and made sure every guest felt at home and comfortable.
It was on a first-come, first-served basis for the treatments, so obviously The Upcoming was there nice and early to be in front of the queue. We were given beautiful hand-painted henna art by Farah, a free-lance henna artist. All of us women were admiring each other’s hands by the end of the evening. There was also a section to have an Essie manicure; the nail girls Maz and Alex were really lovely and gave a wide selection of colour options and styles.
The music was relaxed and the room was brimming with beauty bloggers, press, friends and family all mingling and enjoying the chilled atmosphere. I kept hearing people say “This is so Asma” about the evening, which was a great show of how the evening really did represent the brand and the creator. This is always important and it gave the guests a real feel of the individual and unique care you get from Boudoir lashes.
Later in the evening, there was a burlesque show, adding to the boudoir experience. Led by the amazing Rubyyy Jones with Miss Cairo, Rebecca Eady and Carling Connors, this singing and dancing cabaret made the evening thoroughly entertaining. Not forgetting the Moulin Rouge singers and amazing fire eater! The evening was a non-stop celebration and a wonderful way to celebrate Boudoir lashes’ first birthday.
We left feeling pampered and giddy from all the complementary drinks and snacks, with gorgeous goody bags made by Asma’s father attached to our arms. Filling the bags was Beaubronz bronzing mousse, Smooch Cosmetics eye-shadow, Ogario London hair masque, Batiste dry shampoo and Carmex lip balm, all held inside a black, snake skin-esque Boudoir lashes bag.
Asma’s mantra “to enhance what you have” really shone through and showed that the brand has stuck by their quote, adding more success onto its already brilliant first year of business. With talk of the brand evolving into other treatments, such as waxing and Moroccan facials, we are sure this next year will bring even more success and we can’t wait to see what it will deliver.
