National Pyjama Week: our seven favourite PJ picks!
Here at The Upcoming we love the feeling of finally getting home after a long hard day and putting on a comfortable and warm set of pyjamas. With the darker nights drawing closer and the cold weather bitterly settling in, we couldn’t think of anything more perfect. With National Pyjama Week beginning on 10th October, we have compiled our seven favourite pieces to celebrate how much we love our PJs and to give you the perfect selection for every day of the week!
When we discovered Olivia Von Halle, we couldn’t think of a better place to start. Olivia, who is inspired by Coco Chanel and her contemporaries in the 1920s, started her label after wanting a glamorous outfit to sleep in. We love the Victoria pyjamas priced at £295.00 in a beautiful cornflower blue and snow white printed silk. Classic and chic, Olivia knows exactly how to do bedtime in style. Her work is available to buy in both Harrods and Fenwicks or you can find more of Olivia’s collection here.
Our second pair of choice has to be from ALAS: a sleepwear label that has an inspiring take on pyjamas. The name of the label is an acronym for “All Light All Shadow” and uses inspiration from changes in nature, for example, waking to sleeping. This alpine tee and pants duo is a dreamy for a night in front of the TV, cuddled up in a blanket. You can buy these as separates online for around £40 and they can be found in other stockists around London. Have a look for yourself here.
Love a paisley print? Well at Toast, you can have paisley pyjamas too! They have created a series of cotton flannel PJ sets with the popular design, making bedtimes very cool indeed. Priced at £69, you can be on trend, even in your sleep! For more elegant styles, click here.
Now, for all you onesie lovers out there, we have found the perfect shop for you! Henry, Knut and Thomas are a Norwegian trio who started the quest to make the ultimate all-in-one in 2007. Now in 2012, their label, Onepiece, has had the likes of Kate Moss and Paris Hilton wearing the jumpsuits, allowing them to be one of the best in the market. Our favourite out of them all has to be the Lillehammer Pink Onepiece, with its adorable Christmas style print. Available in different shades and priced at £240, you cannot go wrong this winter. Onepiece also has its own store in Shoreditch for your onesie needs. Find more to add to your collection here.
Australian-based Love and Lustre have some lovely, delicate pieces in their current collection that we simply adore. Traditional and tailored, this label has a delightful set of soft pink polka dot pyjamas for £153. Made from 100% pure silk, what more could you want to slip into when you finish work? A pyjama set cannot be complete without a Cath Kidston addition. We found a heavenly mix-and-match set printed in signature Cath style. These Rose Bud PJ bottoms are priced at a bargain £25 and can be put with the Notting Hill Rose Sweat Top for £40.
Last but by no means least are the charming Twinkle Organic trousers by Nutmeg nightwear. Perfect to wear in front of the fire, match these simple, star bottoms (£29) with a basic long-sleeved white t-shirt (£24) for an effortless bedtime look. Click here to visit the website.
