Sergio Rossi’s boot inspired art by Peng Wei

The fashion house Sergio Rossi has taken inspiration from the delicate art forms from Chinese history and has combined this with their own renowned boot designs.

The series of eight pairs of boots are on display in Sergio Rossi’s Paris boutique until 21^st October and we at The Upcoming would say they are definitely worth a visit. So much of the original artistic notions can be lost in fashion via trend, so how better to bring the fashionista community back to earth with a slight bump than to create a pair of shoes that cannot be worn? A true modern day Garden of Eden to most women, it must be said.                            

The collection was based on Sergio Rossi’s original Chelsea boot design and was given a neutral heel and a splash of Peng Wei’s unique artwork. The boots were a project to take part in the Paris Foire Internationale d’Art Contemporain, also known as the FIAC art show, just two years after their collaboration with innovative French designer Claude Viallat. Viallat’s designs were brushed across a series of six boots, creating a vibrant and bold collection. This, followed by the Peng Wei collaboration, has certainly inspired a bit of a theme.
