Showpony is off with a gallop
Showpony is a fantastic Glaswegian business whose products have managed to capture the eyes of Paperchase, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters and more. Owner Emma’s range consists of homely accessories such as coasters, tea towels, cushions, bags and more. She has illustrated a huge amount of creativity and portrayed a warm and homely feel into everything she has designed.
Emma started out as a sociology student who has constantly strived for something more personal and creative. Turning to the world of film and TV was a creative career move, but still not quite what she had envisaged herself doing. Courageously, she went back to studying and finally did a product design course. A line of screen-printing classes encouraged the creation of a pillow that got her noticed and selected for the Scottish show. This was the beginning of Showpony.
As well as lovely products, there are screen-printing classes on offer, where you can learn about the process and create your own designs. For under £30, this is the perfect family activity or way to discover a new passion.
Showpony has a new Native collection of cushions in neutral or pink tones that add a fresh and modern spin on interior, with luxury feather filler and organic cotton you can be sure is comfortable and soft. Each cushion is unique because they are handmade and printed in a Glasgow studio.
The new and practical bag is the Treasure bag. Made from Hemp and organic cotton canvas with leather straps, this bag is sure to be durable. This is the perfect work, shop or beach bag, with a special removable pouch which makes it unique and particularly practical. It may come in at £68, but when it’s made from strong, organic materials with great care, this is a must-have. (Check out the one made in khaki!)
Showpony is an example of how someone with enough perseverance and passion can create something wonderful. As people become more conscious of the resources they are using, this brand should expand. Showpony has so many wonderful treasures, so don’t miss out!
