Iroquois PR SS13 Press Day
Iroquois PR showcased some of the leading labels in today’s fashion world and showed us some of what they have to offer for SS13.
First to be showcased was Simeon Farrar’s The Wild Side collection. Farrar uses screen printing, so every single piece is different and the outcome is stunning. Known for his quirky t-shirts, he has included the staple of his designs and added eye-catching dresses, incredible bags and gorgeous scarves.
This collection is influenced by 70s and 80s California beach vibes and the beach meets the edge of the jungle. Washed out Hawaiian prints are plastered over neon dresses, giant wild style slogans stand proud on bags and cotton t-shirts, and monkey symbols adorn the baseball little league team. It’s fun, quirky and it’s summer all over. Who doesn’t want shimmering parrots, neon tigers and leopards wearing Guns’n’Roses t-shirts? Yes! It’s true and it’s spectacular. A favourite of ours is the parrot printed dress. Farrar creates gorgeous dresses and we still wonder why people don’t know about them, but after this collection hits your wardrobes, you won’t look back.
His bags are a fabulous array of neons and patterns, all so fun and will brighten up any outfit – a must-have for next summer. There is also a range of t-shirts that have been inspired by the current events, with a twist of humour from Farrar himself. Very cute and very charming; we will certainly be purchasing one for ourselves!
Another label was Rage, a budget-conscious label that has created a beautiful vintage-inspired range for a low budget. The pieces are beautiful with a turquoise and blue collection and pale pink and beige dresses spiked with gold studs and silver collars. The collection is gorgeous, but is made from very light fabric and remember, if you spend £20 on a dress, it isn’t going to be the quality of a £100 dress, but neither will it be less; it is still beautiful and great value for money.
Jewellery creator Gina Stewart Cox has brought out a new collection after the success of her first collection and you can see by how beautiful the pieces are, that she is still growing from strength to strength. She finds her inspirations from the best of global influences, with a wonderful eclectic British heritage. Bar hanging earrings and necklaces, dazzling coloured bangles and chain chord plait bracelets with golden skulls – all the pieces are so quirky and stylish, this label is going to be huge. Not only are these pieces amazing, but they are also ethical, with Cox proudly collaborating with the Elephant Conservation Network in western Thailand to help resolve the human-elephant conflict. The collection is handmade by villagers from Thailand, which offers more jobs and a better way of living for them all. So not only will you be purchasing a gorgeous piece of jewellery, but you will also be supporting an amazing cause. A talented woman with incredible ethics!
Ruby Rooks also hanged gloriously on a rail, in a bomb of stunning colourful knockouts. The use of prints brings the collection into a vintage, summer filled aura; there really is something for everyone. We particularly like their printed tops and staple polka dots. A fantastic range.
The day was an amazing insight into what delightful treats there are in store for the spring/summer season, and we cannot wait to kit out our wardrobes with these amazing labels.
