Supertrash lands in London
Last night we had the pleasure of attending the official launch of Supertrash’s first London store.
As we arrived outside, we could hear old skool R ‘n’ B blasting out the speakers, thanks to a model DJ duo, who were sharply dressed in matching white tuxedo style trouser suits from the label. We were welcomed at the door with a selection of cocktails, and we opted for the Pomegranate Martini.
The two-floor store was illuminated with blue lights at the front, and on the side of the entrance stood a super-size, spotlight lit “S & T”, which provided a backdrop for photos of the VIP guests attending, including Millie Mackintosh and Rosie Fortescue, who were both wearing clothing from the brand. The girls went for the biker chic look with Millie sporting an electric blue leather effect waistcoat and black leather trousers with black tote. And Rosie, also in leather trousers, matched hers with a grey and black blazer and see-through bag.
The Saturday’s girls Mollie King and Vanessa White showed up looking gorgeous. Mollie arrived in what looked like a very cosy sheep skin cream, brown and nude full-length coat, and fitted pastel pink and marl grey jumper dress from the store. Band-mate Vanessa wore a flamboyant peacock print silk shirt teamed with a black pencil skirt from the collection.
An exotic selection of canapés was served, including salmon on plantain chips and mini sweet potato fries.
The owner of the brand and fashion designer Olcay Gulsen turned up fashionably late, looking super glam in a fitted metallic dress.
We were impressed by the selection available, all very ready-to-wear and refreshingly affordable.
We really liked the waistcoat worn by Millie, and the overall use of fabrics, such as the leather detailing around hems, and some very interesting and unique creations such as the solid dripping gold finish on the cream cropped jacket, which also comes with a matching gorgeous bag. They also have a tweed version of this design, which we love. Many of the looks are versatile enough to be worn both day and night. So the verdict on Supertrash coming to town: trashy? No. Super? Yes!
