An evening with Aesop
This week we were invited to Aesop’s beauty event at their Soho store set on Lexington Avenue. The public was invited in from the cold to enjoy warm mulled wine and delicious mini goat’s cheese and cranberry burgers, whilst staff were on hand to demonstrate the range of products available. We explained that our skin is prone to breakouts, and we were advised which products would be best to use to balance out the oil levels.
Their products are all made with essential oils, and are merged with laboratory-based products, many of which benefit skin by offering additional protection such anti-oxidant properties.
The store assistant advised we try the Amazing Face Cleanser, which consists of a refreshing mix of mandarin rind, ylang ylang and lavender stem, followed by the B & Tea balancing toner that contains soothing green tea and witch hazel. She advised to finish off with the complementary mandarin facial hydrating cream. The parsley seed anti-oxidant serum can also be used alongside the cream, and has powerful anti-oxidant properties – perfect for us city dwellers, constantly exposed to a polluted environment.
The Australian brand is to celebrate its 25th anniversary this year, and now boasts more than 45 stores worldwide, offering a range of skin, hair and body products. There are stores in Mayfair, Notting hill, Shoreditch, Borough Market, Islington and a beloved counter at Liberty. Products start at around £23, and they have some gorgeous gift sets perfect for Christmas starting from £40.
