Vintage Fashion London’s Christmas fair

Vintage fashion and beauty trends are becoming increasingly popular with the statement red lipstick, fur trims or classic 1950s or 1960s purses. Every fashion-conscious gal is adding a touch of class or full-on old school glamour to her wardrobe. 

Who wouldn’t want to look like Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn or Rita Hayworth, who all set trends for women and taught us to embrace our own appearance and styles all those years ago?

To meet this growing demand and increasing fascination for the timeless vintage glamour-esque look, many fashion events and fairs are being held all across the country as a celebration of the past and inspiration for present clothing styles. 

One of the most tasteful and elegant of these events is the monthly Vintage Fashion London held near the centre of Camden Town’s hustle in Cecil Sharp House. 

Vintage Fashion London’s most recent event last Sunday included famous designs and fabrics displaying beautiful 1960s furs and 1940s pretty-as-a-plum prom dresses. 

One lady came to the event in full 1940s retro attire, with glamorous authentic 1940s makeup, “Betty Bangs” hairdo and full-on flouncy skirt, showing that vintage clothes are timeless and here to stay. 

There were many exciting stalls on display selling amazing hats, scarves, jewellery and other pieces throughout all of the great fashion eras from the 1940s through to the 1980s. It was truly an experience – something educational, not just a casual shopping affair. Every detail, colour and fabric told a story of the era which it represented. The beauty and essence of fashion was truly emancipated in each classic, unique piece of clothing.
