2000 Miles – The Pretenders

Adverse to popular opinion of festive tunes, The Pretenders 2000 Miles is a downbeat and woeful track. The lack of jingling bells and small children harmonising doesn’t diminish its Christmassy vibe though.

Released in 1983, 2000 Miles shockingly only managed to reach number 15 in the UK charts, but never the less is most definitely a golden oldie. This slow and melodic song, leaving tacky gimmicks behind, will have you feeling the chill of winter and wanting to huddle in front of an open fire!
