Louis Vuitton reveals the Lockit Collection

Just in time for the new year, a new range of jewellery has been unveiled by luxury brand Louis Vuitton, which is set to launch in January 2013. The Lockit Collection consists of 15 different pieces of fine jewellery, with the name “Lockit” being more than appropriate as the compilation takes inspiration from the Louis Vuitton AW11 catwalk show. 

The use of the iconic padlock, which is a famous feature on the monogrammed leather Louis Vuitton handbags, pulls on the heartstrings of the woman who knows what quality is when she sees it. 

The padlock detail is featured on a variety of bracelets in opulent white gold, yellow and rose. Embellished with sumptuous pave diamonds, the designs also feature in the form of necklaces and rings, all of which cater to the needs of the luxury Louis lover. 

The gorgeous collection is said to echo the romantic tradition of the Pont des Arts bridge in le gai Paris, where couples come to attach padlocks to the bridge that stands over the Seine River, where they then throw the key to the lock into the water, in an act of sealing their love for eternity. This charming custom lets us revel in the adorable motive behind the collection, and has us itching to own a part of these exclusive designs. 

The Lockit Collection will be available online and in Louis Vuitton stores from January 2013. Let us hope that a generous loved one is a little late on their Christmas deliveries…
