Green queen Livia Firth named UN Leader of Change
Livia Firth, wife of Colin Firth, is a woman on a constant mission. In conjunction with her Vogue blog where she is challenged to wear only sustainable clothing on the red carpet, she is also creative director of Eco Age, a director of Brightwide and an ambassador for a collection at Yoox.
Anyone who has met Firth would agree there is an awe about the dedication to her cause, which is seen and admired by those whom she has captivated and encouraged to be part of her mission to a more ethical world.
Her never-ending list of accomplishments make her, in anyone’s eyes, an inspiration for change, so it is no wonder she was recently deemed UN Leader of Change 2012. “It feels amazing and is such a great incentive for all of us at Eco Age and the Green Carpet Challenge to keep doing what we do. With this honour now I can be even pushier with everyone I try to involve!” The title was awarded to Livia at the United Nations and Foundation for Social Change conference.
Firth has roped in designers such as Valentino, Stella McCartney, Alice Temperley and, most recently, Jonathan Saunders to help her build awareness for the importance of a greener future.
Livia regularly updates her Vogue blog with the latest in her chicly eco life and designer collaborations.
Congratulations to the queen of green, and may her reign continue to be recognised and rewarded!
