Walking with Dinosaurs at the O2 Arena
As we move into 2013, what could be more spectacular than spending 145 minutes with gigantic dinosaurs?
It was a huge challenge to bring this fantastic show to the public, but the very talented creative team have surely succeeded. With 20 life-sized dinosaurs moving before your eyes, it makes you question your own perception of reality. From the ripple of their skin to the glint in their eye, you would think you are in the heart of Jurassic Park. Beginning 144 million years ago, be ready to travel from the Cretaceous period to the Triassic period; you’ll be amazed by Hadrosaurs, Ankylosaurs and Tyrannosaurs during a show that is as entertaining as it is educational.
As of now the team have put on 1746 performances in 206 cities across the globe, with over 7.3 million people having seen the show since it started. With a colossal £10,000,000 budget, everything you could ever dream of has been brought to life: dinosaurs flying above your heads and roaring in front of you, flowers growing in a matter of seconds, the Earth exploding, yet you’re still alive.
For those who have children or even if you are just passionate about dinosaurs, be sure not to miss this tremendously realistic representation. Otherwise, you may find the absence of plot really impacting on your overall enjoyment of the show: the redundant succession of dinosaurs fighting each other quickly becomes repetitive. The sound is sometimes too loud and depending on where you’re sitting in the arena, you don’t always have the same option of watching what is going on between these beautiful species, as views are sometimes restricted.
But these issues don’t take away from the magical experience that is Walking with Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular, and we are now lucky to be able to share a moment with these creatures from a bygone era.
