1205 London Collections: Men, hosted by Harvey Nichols
This year sees the return of London Collections: Men in which there is great emphasis on the works of the British menswear fashion industry. Similar to London Fashion Week, men’s designers showcase their talent with fashion shows, presentations and events. Harvey Nichols kick-started this week’s event last night with a preview of brand 1205’s A/W13 collection.
The night was hosted at Harvey Nichols light and airy Fifth Floor Café which overlooks the iridescent Knightsbridge rooftops. An array of guests, including model David Gandy, presenter Rick Edwards and blogger Susie Lau, could be seen at the extensive bar filled with champagne and cocktails, or taking in the views from the café terrace which was joyfully lit with fairy lights and a bundle of vanilla-scented candles.
The evening was kindly rounded off as the band, Kindness, took to the stage. Guests absorbed the alternative, upbeat sound of Adam Bainbridge and his band that could be seen sporting the new collection. Lead singer Adam roamed the stage and even came into the audience whilst performing a spontaneous set that lasted around 20 minutes, with a mix of their own songs and a cover of Solange Knowles’ Losing you.
The up-and-coming brand, 1205, which could be seen on the whole band (both man and woman) is setting a minimal tone for A/W13, featuring clean heather greys and deep blues. Adam Bainbridge donned a fitted white shirt and heather grey trousers that nipped in at the waistband, and featured a sports-luxe stripe down either side.
The event set an eclectic mood for the rest of the week and The Upcoming will be keeping you posted on some of the best shows and events.
