GQ’s most stylish man of 2012: Daniel Craig
2012 was a great year for men’s fashion and saw a resurgence of a more artistic and risk-taking approach to the traditionally styled suit. A year of blockbuster films certainly allowed a wealth of fresh tailoring to be premiered on the red carpet with Prometheus’s Michael Fassbender, Twilight’s Robert Pattinson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt from the final installment of the Batman trilogy, all proving they were there to be noticed.
But surely everybody’s favourite leading man was our very own Daniel Craig, whose sartorial skills throughout the year have won him the prestigious title of GQ’s Most Stylish Man of 2012. Both national treasure David Beckham and grown-up heart-throb Zac Efron were pipped to the post by Craig’s eclectic mix of classic Tom Ford tailoring and effortlessly cool, casual looks that picked him out from the crowd of designer mannequins at the French premiere of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
In an arguably career-defining year for Craig, the latest James Bond film Skyfall couldn’t have come at a better time. Alongside the Queen’s Jubilee and the London Olympics, his work during 2012 added to a nationwide sense of pride and appreciation for our unique yet traditional style.
Famed for his gentlemanly demeanor both on and off our screens, our current Bond brings a new level of sophistication to the infamous role and has certainly shown that he knows how to pull off an exquisitely tailored suit.
Reported to have signed up for the next two films in the series, as well as working towards other film projects, this is certainly not the last time we will be praising our stylish secret agent.
