Is Beyoncé fronting the next H&M campaign?
The rumours that Beyoncé is set to star in an H&M campaign have reached our ears and here at The Upcoming we are very excited! The singer has been pictured in the Bahamas wearing a printed, cropped bustier with a yellow flower in her hair and bright red lipstick, sparking speculation that she was taking part in a shoot for the Swedish fashion powerhouse’s Spring/ Summer 13 collection.
This was followed up with a loose-lipped tweet by one of her dancers who was travelling with her. Kimberly Gipson, 29, tweeted: “First day of trial in the Bahamas! H&M all set … go.”
The tweet was promptly deleted, but not before setting tongues wagging all over the fashion world and beyond. With 6,200 followers on the social networking site the news travelled fast but neither Bey nor H&M have commented on the partnership. This should come as no surprise, as when Lana Del Rey was rumoured to be representing the brand it was never confirmed by either party until the sultry campaign starring Ms Del Rey was released shortly after.
H&M have somewhat of a reputation for hooking the hottest stars for their campaigns with David Beckham, Kylie Minogue and Johnny Depp all having represented the brand in the past. Beyoncé is one of our favourite style stars and H&M are legendary in bringing cutting edge style to the masses, so a collaboration between them is our idea of high-street heaven; and as Lana covered the classic song Blue Velvet for her campaign, we can only hope that Beyoncé will also be providing a soundtrack.
Beyoncé can always be relied upon to bring the glamour; whether posing on the red carpet or just relaxing on holiday with her rap-star husband Jay-Z and their baby girl Blue Ivy, she is never anything less than fabulous.
With a $50 million endorsement deal confirmed with Pepsi, and the incredible news that Destiny’s Child are set to reunite after an eight year hiatus, and now the prospect of a major fashion campaign, Beyoncé is set to have a seriously busy year ahead of her.
