Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week: Didit Hediprasetyo S/S 13

Indonesian designer Didit Hediprasetyo is inspired by his birthplace and the Far East. For the collection presented on 23^rd January, a zen mood and tropical reverie was the starting point of his work. 

The collection is divided into three parts: the first group of models wore mainly black, while the second wore white, and the third group presented more formal dresses. The common point is that all the dresses are long and have a sophisticated silhouette with a natural look. We also saw black asymmetrical dresses with necklines that fall to the hips, as well as white strapless models with  cross-over scarves placed lightly on the shoulder. All models wore high flip-flops, and some of them held traditional Japanese umbrellas, and single-shoulder dresses were reminiscent of ancient statues.

We saw some printed coloured dresses in black, orange, white and blue, orange, white combinations. According to Didit “There are also the reflections of crystalline water of Japanese pools full of quivering Koi carp – countless little fish in pure colours.”

We would like to see this simplicity on haute couture – maybe a new trend for couture?
