Essex clothes show live 2013

Essex, the capital of glamour, opened its glittery arms to us last night as we attended the Essex clothes show live. Hosted in Luxe (popular with the TOWIE cast), the club had been transformed into market stalls brimming with bling.

Showcasing some of Essex’s finest brands and upcoming designers, the guests enjoyed browsing the pieces and drinking lots of rosé wine. Complimentary cupcakes and sweets were also available – how very Essex.

When we heard there was to be a fashion show, we knew it would be something out of the ordinary. The bar literally became the catwalk as the freshly tanned and manicured models strutted their stuff across the beverage surface. The models posed for everyone’s pictures and had a good old dance on the bar. This was a great way to show off the garments, as everyone was able to see the show, not to mention its innovative and fun approach. It’s not every day you see a model with “Essex” across her underwear in diamonds.

We had a few favourites of the evening, but our hearts melted when we discovered the lovely jewellery brand that is Pip Jolley. Inspired by the 1950s, Pip’s vintage hair roller necklaces really stole the show for us; such sweet and original pieces that really stood out amongst the other brands.

Another brand that got lots of positive feedback was Sexy Penguin, a vintage reworked clothing brand that started last September. Lots of attendees seemed to be sporting the logo and the festival-inspired clothing proved very popular amongst the guests.

Overall the evening was a very glitzy success, we went home with some arm candy goodies and got on the tube stuffed full of sugar. With the huge turnout last night we are sure the event will be even more popular next year, so watch out!
