NYFW – Mara Hoffman A/W 2013 collection
Amidst the brisk air of New York’s killer blizzard, Mara Hoffman’s fantastic taste in prints and shapes truly shines. The New York-based designer let no storm stand in the way of bringing the island breeze to the city.
Hoffman’s designs incorporate an organic flow of soft materials mixed with bohemian and architectural shapes and prints.
Hoffman brings to the table soft and structured silhouettes, and ensures a bang with every ensemble. The dramatic outfits paired elegantly with the middle-part hairdos and Pamela Love “armor rings”, had the star-studded audience raving.
New to Mara’s collection and thrown in with the funky patterns, black and onyx tones grace the runway this season, showing that Hoffman’s style embodies the grace of a bohemian New York princess, and not simply your average beach babe.
Models floated down the runway to tribal beats by the Rapture and White Wizard, to create an electrifying ambiance.
The overall Polynesian feel of the styling and infamously perfect swimsuits that Hoffman brings to the table made attendees feel the warm and exotic breeze the blizzard was lacking.
Hoffman stayed true to both her New York roots and bohemian vision as she came through with her classically playful and fearless approach to both colour and print.
