Pure London A/W 13: day two

Pure London A/W 13: day two

Day two of this gorgeous fashion-fest, and we are still stunned by the amount of wonderful pieces making their way onto next season’s high street. Today we saw guest speakers Zandra Rhodes, Anne Furbank and Lorna Hall, and we even got the opportunity to speak to some of our favourite designers, including Juilian Hakes, Kat Maconie and Bill Skinner. Today we also observed some fabulous footwear and accessories, so here are a few of our favourite pieces!

The highlight of the day was certainly watching the seminar named Zandra Rhodes Live. The world-renowned fashion and textile designer spoke with Safia Minney, founder of the award winning People Tree, about their trip to India. Rhodes partnered with the Fair Trade fashion pioneers to present us with an ethical line of pieces, some of which were marched down the runway alongside some wonderful photographs from their time in Mumbai. We saw Rhodes and Minney meet the cotton farmers, seamstresses and members of the community who were contributing to the collection and who benefited from Fair Trade. Keep an eye out for her latest collection.

Following that, we moseyed around hundreds of shops to seek out some favourite names. We’ve already mentioned Sam Ubhi, but some other footwear and/or accessory designers to look out for are Krystal London, Love Lemonade, My Net, Carlton and Ottoman Hands. We’d also like to give a special mention to Bill Skinner and his Save the Bees collection! His jewellery is absolutely stunning, and with every purchase, customers receive a packet of wild flower and meadow grass seeds to plant, hopefully keeping our bees alive and strong!

Today was absolutely fabulous, let’s hope Pure London have saved the best until last, as tomorrow is the final day!
