NYFW: CZAR by Cesar Galindo catwalk show
Drawing inspiration from super storm Sandy, CZAR by Cesar Galindo’s early morning fashion show was a vision of beauty as he presented pieces that were transitional from day to night.
Practicality was a big theme for this collection; movable, breathable fabrics and shapes were big on his runway. Galindo has a feel for what a woman wants to wear, having grown up around five sisters. He also has a grasp of construction and background in costume design.
This talent, inspiration and training has paid off for him being that he’s the private designer for LAMB by Gwen Stefani and for many other famous names including Madonna, Courtney Cox and Dolce and Gabbana.
In this collection, Galindo has a sequined gown that appears from far away to be tattoos on bare skin, and it is simply breathtaking.
The cast of new AMC show, Freakshow, sat front row at Galindo’s presentation in the Lincoln Center. In his words, the collection was a “very convertible wardrobe”. The colors were understated but there was a beautiful red knit dress with leather gauntlets that I think will do extremely well off the runway. Overall, a wonderful experience to be a part of and great ready-to-wear clothing that translates well for the average consumer.
