NYFW – Nanette Lepore A/W 2013 collection
As the New York Fashion Week progressed, the highly anticipated Nanette Lepore A/W 2013 designs took to the runway. The looks floated down the catwalk , each better than the last.
Shimmery sheer blouses were accompanied by peacock-coloured skirts. Some looks were accented by bomber-style jackets with zippers and fur lining. Flirty floral dresses were contrasted with tough leather jackets.
Lepore used geometric cutouts to make her buttoned-up shirts a little sexy for those wishing to reveal some skin. Beaded lace also made its way through the collection, giving structured jackets and tops a level of femininity Lepore is famous for achieving.
This A/W collection is mature but youthful, and can be worn by women at any age. The designs were works of art, yet functional, something the fashion industry has been trying to achieve for some time. Lepore’s colour palette ranged from army green to happy reds and oranges, complementing this sophisticated collection.
Nanette Lepore’s fashion has extended throughout the US and Europe, including Tokyo. She is currently expanding in the Southeast Asian cities of Shanghai and Hong Kong. We will continue to watch this growth and look forward to seeing what her Eastern customers demand.
