NYFW – Rebecca Minkoff A/W 2013 collection

Rebecca Minkoff wowed the crowd with the true essence of ready-to-wear. Everything seen on the runway could be worn by the average consumer, and we thank her for that. The detail in the garments hinted toward the futuristic, but the overall feel of the collection is elegant yet tailored. Menswear or “tomboy” looks that clash with the feminine.

“The functional design elements of spacesuits translate to futuristic fine points: utilitarian finishes, modern closures, wide zippers, padding and quilting,” said the designer. We spotted Ashlee Simpson in the crowd as the band Wild Cub provided the background music for the models walking down the runway. Minkoff strayed from the pack of this year’s designers with her pops of neon colours, giving the collection a youthful and fun theme. Minkoff also encouraged guests to use their various social media avenues to talk about the show using the hashtag “#RMFall”, overall making this show a fan favorite.
