Exploring To-orist: an inspired point of view

To-orist is a notion based on the theories and ideas surrounding exploration, culture and science. It is a distinctive brand that produces rare pieces of clothing, much of which is expressed through the evident insignia-derived designs.

Designer, Macharaia Brian, describes the London based brand as “merely an inspired point of view”. He considers one of the major links in the line to be the philosophy that “eye is key”; and rightly so as visual capability is what relates us to the aesthetic world of design.

With signature To-orist motifs distinguishing their clothes from the rest, the brand strives to remain timeless and inter-seasonal while continuously producing innovative and captivating new ideas through the use of interesting materials and printing methods.

Often employing an avante-garde approach to ordinary pieces, the outcome is most certainly inimitable as well as visually appealing. As is evident with their popular bomber jackets which have been creatively reinvented, with bold use of elaborate materials such as sequins and black quilted lining as well as a luxuriant textile know as tapestry, which is woven in interesting ways.
