NYFW – Charlotte Ronson A/W 2013 collection
Inspired by her English heritage, Charlotte Ronson’s fall 2013 collection was a throwback to the 60s, with a modern twist (and a lot more leather). A-line skirts, high necklines, and mod mini-dresses lined the stage, presentation style, where each look was on display for the duration of the show.
Hunter green and purple leather pieces in feminine silhouettes definitely took the lead in this collection, but it was Ronson’s clever mix of those leather looks with gray plaid, tweed and wool pieces that gave it a cool girl-meets-woodsy huntress feel. Heavy fabrics, slouchy sweaters and pants tucked into ankle boots made us want to rock these looks in the English countryside.
Some of the stand-out pieces included a floral pattern dress with black peek-a-boo netting that brought a little sex appeal to the collection, and cool leather bomber-tops that kept it edgy.
As one of today’s hippest and most sought after designers, it was nice to see Ronson veer a little bit away from the grunge-inspired looks she’s known for and give us something fresh and new.
