NYFW – Trina Turk A/W 2013 collection
If you think that geometric print, bold colour, fur and houndstooth is hard to pull off, then Trina Turk’s A/W 2013 collection was made to prove you wrong. We think it’s safe to say that the 1970s has never looked so good.
From jewel-coloured furs to lustrous stripes and feminine houndstooth, this collection is daring yet still sophisticated. The array of textures and patterned fabrics are perfectly balanced with the boxy, masculine coats that an A/W collection would not be complete without. However for A/W, Trina Turk has managed to include an aspect of summer to her collection through bold colour blocking and bright leathers.
With every look being complemented by a wide-brimmed Fedora hat and a matching neck scarf, the elegance of the collection is given an American-cool 1970s vibe. A Bianca Jagger-like grandeur combined with Jimi Hendrix’s coolness makes this collection perfectly retro.
