LFW – Belle Sauvage A/W 2013 collection
Virginia Ferreira and Chris Neuman are the design pair behind fashion label Belle Sauvage. The Upcoming was invited to see their autumn/winter 2013 show as part of London Fashion Week yesterday afternoon. Launched in 2008, they have developed a signature style that is sophisticated and sleek but still incredibly feminine. It shows that the duo studied in the arts and has experience from studies at The London College of Fashion, especially when you look at their incredible digital prints.
The show itself was well formed with models sporting fan-like headbands accompanied by slick bunches with dramatic dip-dyed fringes. It was quickly apparent that the collection’s theme was based on Asian philosophies. Belle Sauvage has such a wearability factor, but is still high end and extremely chic. This was displayed through the heavy use of fur, to make ponchos and thick collars that, against the richness of the prints, looked fantastic.
This collection was a great example of a well thought out idea, which was then superbly executed. Definitely worth a look at their collection, as we can’t wait to get our hands on some of their pieces.
