LFW – Yifang Wan A/W 2013 collection
The start of the day at the Vauxhall Fashion Scout began with a fascinating showcase of Yifang Wan’s AW13 collection. Renowned for her eccentric and bold accessories from previous collections, next season for Wan is a true reflection of her intriguing style. Fascinated by the work of Marin Abramovice, the collection takes on the physical and mental limits of a being, and transforms them into a futuristic array of must-have pieces.
The collection itself is aimed to reflect extreme self-restraint and austerity. Simplicity is the key to the collection, with garments taking a more linear shape to the body. Only four shades of colour were used amongst the pieces, including a beautiful deep emerald green and a dark, burgundy shade, reflecting the true feel of autumn through a use of cashmere wool.
The clothing itself came in the form of dresses, tailored pants and tunics. Woollen overcoats were effortless but made an indefinite statement.
Stainless steel belts, necklaces and shoulder cuffs pierced the bold colour palette to resemble weapons “restraining” the body from life’s temptations.
