LFW – Disney’s Oz The Great and Powerful: The Inspired Fashion
The new Disney motion picture, Oz The Great and Powerful, transformed the showspace at the British Fashion Council on Sunday morning into a fascinating display of film and fashion.
Guests were treated to a special fashionista preview with bright green Champagne, melon liqueur cocktails and a beautiful array of green and orange cupcakes on arrival.
A truly magical setting had been creating from a series of different outfits and footwear, all themed around the movie. Costumes, which were designed specifically for the film, as well as first look sketches of Nicholas Kirkwood’s shoe designs, filled the space which made a very different atmosphere. Nicolas’ four-piece collection, inspired by the film, was designed specifically for Selfridges and will feature a window display, including The Yellow Brick Road and Emerald City at their flagship store.
Michel Negrin’s accessories and a red carpet dress designed by William Tempest were also on show.
Presented with OPI goodie bags on exit that contained Oz-inspired limited edition nail varnishes, guests were really given the full Disney fashion experience!
