LFW – Michael van der Ham A/W 2013 collection

Michael van der Ham showcased its autumn/winter 2013 collection today at London Fashion Week.  This show had a fantastic combination of tailored skirts and coats, but also detailed prints with heavy embellishments. It is clear from this collection that brocade is staying in fashion, along with nearly metallic-toned pieces in deep blues, greens and gold, which added richness to the garments. There was a definite presence of drop-waist silhouettes like previously seen in Ralph Lauren’s Great Gatsby-inspired collection. London Fashion Week AW13 - Michael van der Ham Catwalk

Michael van der Ham has a unique talent for pairing very intense (often contrasting) prints together without an outfit feeling overwhelming or distracting. His pieces included a fair amount of light sheer type fabrics, making this collection easy to pair up and down for everyday wear or evening wear. However, if to be worn in the suggested autumn/winter, this collection will definitely need to be paired with a leather or thick fur.

All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed this collection and cannot wait to get our hands on some of these embellished beauties.
