LFW – Tom Ford A/W 2013 collection
Having forgotten just how fun doing a catwalk show is, Tom Ford, who’s last show was in 2004, decided it was about time he return to the runway. Now of course Ford did it in true style at the Lancaster House with Champagne flowing effortlessly.
“Cross-cultural, multi ethnic, happy and maximalist” is how Ford described his collection when asked just prior to the show and those words were too true. The show was as if you were watching a movie on fast-forward, with all the good bits being highlighted, illustrating the key trends along the way. In one moment there were luxurious furs and monochrome (very hot right now!) and the next rock-chick vibe and blocks of colour. Zigzags and animal print were also very prominent in the show.
Tom Ford made his come back big and fabulous, not that it could have happened any other way. His collection was the perfect mix of illustrating his talents as a designer and showing he can create fantastic pieces that are extreme or ready to wear.
