A fashionable ending to Fashion Week with Morella Sassoon
As a delightful end to LFW, The Upcoming was invited to an exclusive collection preview for British designer label Morella Sassoon. With clients such as Caroline Flack, the sophisticated luxury brand is dedicated to delivering meticulous designs with extreme attention to detail and a sharp focus on the feminine figure.
The label, run by self-taught designer Daniella and her partner Monty Sassoon, incorporates English personality. Daniella designs from a personal passion that allows women to wear gorgeous designs whilst also having the luxury of comfort and ease.
The night itself consisted of mingling clients and fans of the brand’s work, all of which took place in the infamous Dover Street in London. As Daniella was sure to greet her guests and discuss her designs, her passion came through almost instantly.
She said, with much-deserved pride in her art: “I studied business management at university, but, after a trip to India and Thailand, I saw some amazing and inspirational work. I never studied fashion design, and am self-taught, but I aspire to create clothes that suit the real woman.”
This was also evident, as the ever-friendly models mingled with the crowd who admired the designs. Daniella spoke of her choice of models: “We like to use real women, as you can see, they’re not stick thin. We’d like to cater for every type of woman!”
As the crowd eagerly mingled and networked, free champagne and nibbles were available. Stunning jewellery and hats, as well as clothes on rails by other designers (such as Zoë Jordan) were on show for people to admire.
The overall friendly atmosphere and elaborate display of amazing designs drew gasps and statements of adoration as we all ended an exciting and thrilling fashion week with a chilled, calm and fashion-filled evening.
