New York glamour at Daniela Tabois
When you flick through the fashion mags you’ll be seeing the latest collections from Victoria Beckham or Oscar de la Renta. However, there are some hidden gems in New York that you need to know about.
Daniela Tabois is a Brooklyn-based designer that graduated from Wood Tobe Coburn School with an A.S in Fashion Design. Daniela joined Jill Stuart for her internship and later went on to be an assistant designer at a private label company. She used her knowledge of the industry and her passion to work her way up the career ladder to become a designer. She now works on her own fashion line as well as other projects, and her work has been featured in Lucky Magazine.
The label is made up of garments that have been hand crafted by Daniela. She admires feminine silhouettes that are mixed with edgy combinations. For example this silk print dress accentuates the female figure but has a funky print down the front to make it even more interesting. Their aesthetic focuses on quality fabrics and craftsmanship that is wearable. “I dress women who have a feminine style that love to add edgy elements to their look. I like to think of her as the uptown girl meets downtown girl. She is fashion forward, pays attention to details, constructions and loves the mixes of both worlds.”
This collection is definitely edgy and you can see this in this leather black peplum top. The peplum tapers down at the back to make it different compared to typical peplums. This pencil skirt would look stunning on a night out and you’d have people asking you where you bought it from.
Daniela is inspired by the aim to design pieces that are uniquely versatile and can be taken from day to night in her everyday living.
So forget about all those big named designers for a while and check out some of the lesser known designers from New York. Daniela’s website is going to make your credit card nervous as you will want pretty much everything she creates. Head over there ASAP by clicking here.
