MFW – Fendi A/W 2013 collection
Pushing the boundaries of safety at Milan Fashion Week, Fendi showcased an eclectic collection with an abundance of mink and fox furs, retracing its heritage of Fendi as a fur house. Karl Lagerfeld said: “Fur is Fendi and Fendi is fur.”
Stunning round neck coats and sleeveless tunic dresses were created in bold, bright, yet warm colours of luscious pinks, sunset oranges and forest greens. The models all had fur mohicans woven onto their hair, giving them a flavour of punk rock. The collection feels futuristic, mystical and strangely enticing. The fabrics are outstandingly woven together in a seamless fashion so that the fur, wool and leather all blend into each other, unable to tell where one fabric ends and another begins. The designs all contain key trends for A/W 13, including minimalist sports trends and exaggerated volume.
Overall, the collection is fun, daring and keeping in trend with the latest and hottest styles for autumn/winter 2013. Whether you love or hate fur, it can’t be denied that this collection is a beautiful piece of art combining fabulous colours, structure and style.
